To become an artist requires at first a modicum of talent followed by ever increasing amounts of stubbornness and vanity.
To become a successful artist requires something else as well. Probably a lot of glad-handing, but then what would I know about it?

stubbornness and vanity. you said a mouthful there, sir. I also use the term, "bull-headed determination". I think Love goes in there too. Gotta have the love or it's all for naught, eh?
